Our home has four bedrooms and 3½ baths, 2,500 sq. feet, and two stories. It is very kid friendly & perfect for a large family or two families. It can accommodate eight people (2 more could sleep on the sofa bed).
The master bedroom has a queen bed, bathroom, and private balcony that is lovely for bird watching.
The guest room also has a queen bed with a partial ocean and island view.
The girl’s bedroom has two single beds (bunk style.
The boys’ room has two extra long single beds.
The family room is large and comfortable with a sofa-bed, reclining chairs, a large screen television for DVD/Videos only (no channels), computer with internet, game-cube, and playstation2. We have all modern appliances in kitchen and washer/dryer in separate laundry room. The sitting room has a formal dining area, piano, guitars, and stereo. Our backyard and patio are surrounded by giant advocado trees and tropical plants. Area Details We live in Ventura, a typical southern California coastal town. Surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, and swimming the waves are part of the daily routine. There is a very vibrant downtown with shopping, cinemas, playhouses, cafes, and clubs. The Marina and Harbour area has excellent restaraunts and children's arcade. Founded by the Spanish during the 1700s, Ventura has a beautiful Mission, historical Mexican Ranchero, and museum showcasing the Chumash Indian Tribe. Olivas Park offers public golfing amid a hundred palm trees. The climate is mild all year round, averaging 73 degrees fahrenheit. Days begin with foggy mornings which turn into warm, sunny afternoons. The sunsets are always spectacular.
Our home is less than ten minutes to the beach. Feel free to enjoy our beach chairs, boogie boards, and ample supply of sand toys. Many of the beaches have playgrounds, picnic areas, and facilities. There are excellent hiking and biking trails throughout Ventura. Be on the lookout for mountain lions and coyotes! You are welcome to use our two adult bikes, two children bikes, and scooter.
Our neighborhood is family oriented and comprised of mostly professionals. Community tennis and basketball courts, running track, and public swimming pool are within walking distance. Every weekend there is an outdoor farmer’s market nearby.
Los Angeles is an hour drive southbound. You can easily take day trips to Hollywood, Beverly Hills, The Getty and other museums, Rodeo Drive, Universal Studios, and Malibu. Northward is my favorite destination for world class shopping, dining and entertainment, beautiful Santa Barbara, just a half hour away. If you enjoy thrill rides, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor are 35 minutes to the east. To the west, of course, are miles and miles of Pacific coastline and Channel Islands National Parks. Disneyland, San Diego, and Mexico, while within 2-3 hours by car, would require at least an overnight stay to truly enjoy. Travel Details Available for exchange are our BMW(5 passengers) and Toyota Highlander (7 passengers) Train station in town offers service to Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara. There is Shuttle service to and from Airport.
