Property Details Ski-in/out chalet newly built in 2003 in heart of Trois Vallees ski area - claimed to be the largest ski area in the world with over 600km of pistes. Located in centre of village overlooking nursary slopes. Built on three floors. Sleeps a total of 12 in 4 double-bedrooms (each with bath and balcony), plus a large gamesroom for kids with 4 large bunks, leading to steam-room/shower. Bootroom with boot warmers. Utility room with washing machine/dryer etc. Outdoor jacuzzi. Log fire. Hi-fi in each bedroom. Satellite TV. Playstation. Computer desk and internet access. Housekeeping/cooking as required. Ski season December through April. Village height 1450m. Chalet is 200m from main gondola out of resort, and 100m (down some steps) from the village centre and shops. Area Details The Trois Vallees is regarded as one of the best ski areas in the world. Over 600 kilometres of piste between Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens, this ski system has one of the best lift systems with very little wait--even at the busiest times. La Tania is located at the centre of the ski area, and you can reach anywhere in the area in a day's skiing, visiting many of the ten of so villages linked to the system. In the Courchevel Valley there is a wide selection of skiing to suit every skier. From the free drag lift on La Tania's nursery slopes to the blue runs above the resort and the wonderful red runs from the top of the Saulire. But that is only the beginning. There are also plenty of chances to explore further afield including the fabulous Cime de Carron in Val Thorens (some of the highest skiing in Europe), and experts will find almost limitless off piste possibilities. The entire area is known for "very sure snow" and normally has snow through until May. Village height 1450m, with snow cannon on main slope to village. Travel Details Low cost airlines fly into Geneva (Switzerland) and Lyon (France). Airports are 2.5hr drive from chalet. Hiring a car at airport €175 for the week is cheaper than a taxi (€300 each way). Buses from Geneva regularly during ski season (2.5 hours), or buses from train terminus Moutiers (25mins).
