Master bedroom and bath are spacious; 2 bedrooms each have a twin bed, another bedroom with private bath serves as office and has queen futon; den/library has a queen bed. Chef's kitchen has granite and lots of working space, piano, cable + HD plasma TV/ broadband + wi-fi. Tree house in Maple tree. We have two gentle cats. Area Details The Sherwood Forest area of Northridge is the quintessential San Fernando Valley suburb where movie stars had their second homes in the 1950's. Some 50's era ranch style homes, some updated large luxury homes in area. Quiet street good for biking, park nearby, one mile to Cal State Univ. Northridge. 5 miles to hiking in foothills. 20 miles to UCLA, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Malibu beaches. 30 minute drive to Six Flags Magic Mountain, 90 minutes to Disneyland, 2 hours to Legoland, 3 hours to Sea World. Day trips to Santa Barbara, ski resorts, Mojave Desert. Public golf course 10 minutes away, Griffith Park Zoo and Golf Course 45 minutes. You can volunteer with our Girl Scout troop to work on Rose Parade floats. We often have sunny 80 degree weather at Christmas and New Year's Day. Travel Details Buses are available but distances are long. Unless you want solitude, a car is necessary. Ours may be available.
