Property Details Our Town: Located at 6,500 feet, Incline Village, Nevada is a skiing, tennis and golfing resort on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Our house is in the center of it all, just one block from the lake. Diamond Peak ski hill is six minutes from our house, tennis courts are five minutes and the town's indoor recreation center is only three minutes (big heated pool, exercise equipment, basketball courts). Destination: We especially seek exchanges in New York City, Florence, Hawaii, San Francisco, Laguna Beach, Aspen, European Ski areas and similar spots. We seek up-scale exchanges that match our home in style and luxury. Sorry, but we are usually not interested in suburban destinations. Our house: We think ours is most indulgent bathroom in town. It's big--16 x 20 feet--and has a hydro- heated quartzite tile floor, large jet tub for two, steam shower, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, sky lights, first-rate sound system, Italian glass wash basins, a climbing tropical vines, views of the woods and more. The master bedroom opens directly into the bath, creating room combination that's fun, warm and indulgence. The second best room is our kitchen, which it is designed for serious cooks. Besides the usual stuff, you'll find a cappuccino machine, bread maker, Chantal cookware, butler's pantry and separate food preparation areas, Henckel knives, Cuisinart pots and more. If you love to cook, this is for you. An enclosed Japanese courtyard is the "entry element" for our home and is very private. In the summer, it's a great place to relax and enjoy the sun; in the winter it's fun to watch the snow pile up. Downstairs there are two small bedrooms and a bath. But the big feature downstairs is a home theater with projection TV and surround sound. Our neighborhood: A mix of older mountain houses and a scattering of new zillionare homes. For example, one block away a fifteen million-dollar home is going up; eight other smaller homes ($3 to 6 million) are under construction within three blocks. Sorry, but we're just ordinary folks and are still amazed at these splashy palaces. Everyone seems to enjoy strolling our street. Both winter and summer it is almost traffic free and offers some interesting views and nice home to check out. Our home is on a very quiet corner only a block from Lake Tahoe. Residents and guests have access to the town's two beaches; one is three blocks away, another is four blocks. Please note we have no other access to the lake or beaches. The rich guys own most of the beaches and keep the likes of us out. Oh well, you can't have the whole rainbow in life. A small shopping center is one block away with a market, cafe, post office, bar, video store and so on. For serious shopping, a big super market (Raleys) is five block away. You can walk to the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Casino, which is six blocks away. We like to walk there for light lunch or coffee. Sunday morning brunch buffet is outstanding. Extras: Our home is "security wired" to the Incline Village fire station, which is only three blocks away and is home base for our outstanding paramedics. We can include our cars in an exchange. For winter we have a 1987 Jeep Grand Wagonair with 4X drive, snow tires and a ski rack, which is absolutely unstoppable in snow. Our summer car is a 1988 Volvo. Both cars are over ten years old, but run great. Tap water comes directly for a mountain spring and is a real treat.
