Property Details We are desirous of exchanging homes. Our house is a four bedroom (en-suite T.V. walk-in wardrobe and video in main bedroom)timber pole home on three levels. It is situated on the side of Queensland’s Great Dividing Range approximately 12 km North of Cairns City and has rain-forest and ocean views out to Green Island in the Pacific Ocean. The house itself has timber decks on all levels, has air conditioning throughout, has three marble bathrooms and four toilets, a T. V. room (with large screen T.V., video and modern stereo), games room (with ¾ size pool table) sitting room with piano, dining-room, entertaining area with dining-suite on deck immediately outside internal dining-room,laundry (with auto washing machine and dryer), undercover car accommodation (two vehicles) and a large kitchen with all modern conveniences including dishwasher and microwave. Adjoining the residence is a swimming pool with waterfall and large timber deck entertaining area with webber (kettle) and gas bar-b-ques. Our home is fully insect and security-screened. Antiques, leather lounges, designer furniture feature through-out. We are situated in the rain-forest, and native scrub-turkeys visit our home daily (we feed them) and monitor lizards (similar to goannas) visit regularly. Kookaburras, king-fishers, several types of rain-forest pigeons, honey-eaters, cockatoos, finches, starlings and several other bird species visit the area. We are close to a major shopping-centre, Olympic-sized swimming pool, library, numerous beaches and tourist attractions. Outstanding is the award-winning Skyrail Cableway, which travels over the rainforest, to Kuranda on the Atherton Tablelands. Tjabukai Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Wildworld (featuring many Australian native animals), Port Douglas (30 minutes drive away) and Great Barrier Reef (with scuba-diving and snorkelling opportunities). We have an Art Gallery, more than 20 multi-cultural restaurants, Casino, major international airport nearby.We are close to several golf courses, including Paradise Palms, which has an excellent international reputation. Although we are close to many attractions and facilities, our home has absolute privacy and our two-acre property merges into National Parkland. We are a family of four, two children aged 10 and eight; we are non-smokers and would prefer non-smokers. We have no pets but we are happy to care for pets on an exchange.
