Area Details Leamington Spa is in the county of Warwickshire in the Heart of England. It has a population of approximately 46,000. It's a Georgian town of the Regency era. (The Georgian period is generally taken to be from 1714 to 1837 and splits neatly into three: Palladian 1714-1760, Adam 1760-1790 and Regency 1790-1837). It has splendid stucco fronted buildings and wide elegant streets. Its success was based around its saline springs. The waters can still be sampled from a drinking fountain in the town. In addition to its own attraction, Royal Leamington Spa is an ideal base from which to tour the surrounding area. Four miles down the road is the mediaeval town of Warwick, home of the world renowned Warwick Castle. It also has antique and bric-a-brac shops and many restaurants. Within a twelve mile radius of our home is Kenilworth, with its haunting castle ruins; Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company and its theatres; Hatton, which has the country's largest craft centre and rare breeds farm; Coventry with its famous cathedral and Lady Godiva, and Stoneleigh, home of the National Agriculture Centre which is the venue for the Royal Show and other events. We are within easy reach of the Railway Station and Town Centre and four miles away from the M40 Motorway which links Birmingham, Warwick, Banbury and Oxford to London. Trains run every 30 minutes to London and take one-and-a-half hours to Marylebone Station, which is walking distance from Madame Tussaud's - the famous waxworks museum. Birmingham, (which is only 25 miles away) has an international airport with many direct flights to the USA and Europe and is home to the National Exhibition Centre.
