Property Details This is a 37' Custom OSTAR boat converted to cruising in 1984 and completely refit in 1999. The 'Flit" is only well suited for a couple since the other double is in the main salon. This boat has done three circumnavigations and been across the atlantic eleven times. This is a fast single handed racer that was converted to cruising. The emphasis is on strength and speed with comfort being a distant third. Separate rooms are four: one salon(comprising galley, dinett, nav); a statroom with a double; a head with shower; and a huge forepeak storage area. All equipment is new as of 1997 every last item in the boat has been reworked. She has hot/cold preasure water, CD stereo, Inverter, Solar Panel, GPS, Loran, Map Sounder, EPIRB, Avon w/outboard, Heater, Barbuque. The beam is 10.25' draft 6.8' displ 8.3 ton, 24hp Volvo saildrive. This is not your typical charter boat and would only be good for a younger athletic couple with maybe just one child. The Flit starts to feel crowded with four adults abord. The cruising area that we are in is unbelievable though. We could make a small two room rustic cabin available to stage your trip from. Area Details The SanJuan Islands are at the south entrance to the inside passage to Alaska. Towering glacier topped mountains, fjords, waterfalls, hotsprings, and incredible wilderness are within the nearby sailing area. Hundreds of island groups with narrow waterways separating them are sheltered behind Vancouver Island. This area is one of the harder to reach in the world but once here is wonderfully sheltered and remote enough to still have true wilderness. It is possible to sail from here to Alaska almost entirerly in sheltered Island waterways. Travel Details None
