Hello, our names are Franck and Rebecca Fama and we live in a small village on the outskirts of Montpellier 25 minutes from the Meditteranean coast. We have a seven month old baby called Esther. Our house is a terraced house in a quiet cul de sac with a small garden front and back. The back garden is very private and great for barbecues on a summer evening.
Our house is divided into two parts, upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs we rent to a friend who will normally have left by this summer, so the whole house (130m²) may be free. Upstairs , where we live there are three bedrooms, a lounge/ dining-room, bathroom, toilet, kitchen and a balcony. Downstairs there are 2 rooms, & a bathroom & a kitchenette and a large garage.
The house is well equipped : oven, microwave, washing-machine, hi-fi, gas central heating , open fire, barbeque, .
We live fifteen minutes from the centre of Montpellier, a very cosmopolitan city with all the usual ammenities plus numerous dance, music, theatre festivals in summertime . Apart from the many beaches there are great river spots not far for bathing or canoeing, and a number of pictoresque old stone villages, complete with monastries, castles etc. There are plenty of great walks or bike tracks, some from the village itself in the area. A little further afield, but possible for a day trip is the Camargue, (1 hour) and the Spanish border (1& a half hours)
We have a cat , Nutty, who is very friendly and spends most of the summer outside. I am an english teacher and my husband is a nurse and we’d like to house swap somewhere quiet in the countryside in the UK, preferably in Wales. We have done house swaps before, but only with friends. We are free to swap houses during the month of August. We could lend our second car which is an old (10 years) Rover, but we wouldn’t need to borrow one as we’re driving over.
