Property Details Large Victorian house (11 rooms and 3235 sq. ft/ 300m2), fully updated, in the Greater Boston area, in pleasant residential neighborhood located 10 minutes away from downtown Boston. Our house (1895) has three floors. Downstairs you will find: a large modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a central island, an adjacent dining-room, a shower, a living-room with a fireplace, a music room/library with a piano, a hi-fi, and many books in English and in French. On the second floor, a large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, three childrens' bedrooms (two of them with a computer and high-speed Internet connection) , an open "sunroom" with an attractive view used as a family and TV room (with a sofa bed), and a third bathroom. On the third floor, there is a guestroom with a queen size bed and a spacious double office with two computers, also with Internet connection. The house can easily sleep 7-9 people. It has all the comfort you might expect (flat screen TV, VCR, DVD, washer-dryer, barbecue, computer games, etc. ) . We are also very well equipped in terms of childrens' games for all ages (including a swing and a ping-pong table) . We have a front porch with rocking chairs and a patio (equipped with tables and chairs and a fire-pit) within a small fenced garden at the back of the house. There is also a lovely small green with benches in front of the house where children can play. Area Details Our property is situated in a desirable and child-friendly neighborhood, in a historic district filled with beautiful houses of all styles. We are only 10 minutes by car from downtown Boston on the turnpike and 15 minutes from Cambridge and Harvard Square along the Charles River. Buses and a fast commuter rail to Boston are also available nearby. All necessary shops and two large supermarkets are within walking distance. You will also have access to several parks and free tennis courts nearby. In the summer, you'll have the possibility to use our town pass for swimming in a nearby lake or in the local outdoor pool (both 5 minutes drive) . The Boston area offers multiple pleasures: great museums (Museum of Fine arts, Isabella Gardner Museum, Fogg, Sackler collection, Childrens' Museum, Science Museum, Planetarium, Aquarium, John Kennedy Museum etc. ) , many historical sites (Plymouth, Boston Tea Party, Concord, Lexington, etc. ) , M. I. T. and the University of Harvard. Beautiful beaches less than an hour away, whale watching, Cape Cod, and the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Great food and many restaurants. Travel Details Express train to downtown Boston (11 minutes) around the corner. MBTA (metro) to downtown Boston in nearby Newton Center. Express train to new-York in less than 3 hours.
