Property Details My brand new two story luxury condo is a mile from the center of town, the Taos plaza, with small shops, galleries and restaurants. The grounds are peaceful with alot of trees. The Rio Pueblo, a small river which starts at Taos pueblo runs through the property. You can take a blanket outside and enjoy a glass of wine or picnic by the river. Last spring, the river was nice and full, we'll see what this year brings. The downstairs living area has high ceilings with vigas (logs) and split wood ceiling, a kiva fireplace, and stained cement and tile floors, very southwest with a contemporary feel. There is a powder room downstairs. There is a small portal outside for enjoying the sounds of the Rio Pueblo. There is a dining area, table for four and full modern kitchen. The upstairs has a master bedroom with full bath and a small deck off the bedroom. There is a second bedroom which I use as a library, and sitting room. It is also upstairs with full bath. I am an avid reader instead of a tv watcher but will gladly hook up a small one with vcr if you like. Taos is a wonderful small community located in Northern New Mexico at the base of the Rocky mountain Sangre de Christo mountain range. It is picturesque and very friendly, rich with culture and history. It is a blend of rural charm and cultural sophistication. We have lots and lots of sky, sun 320 days of the year, four gentle and lovely seasons, and vistas that soar and valleys that dip down to the Rio Grande river, which flows through Taos. We are one hour and fifteen minutes from Santa Fe, another cultural mecca. There are museums with some of the finest southwest art in the world, as well as many restaurants, some world class dining, as well as casual dining (great food!), and good shopping, with many wonderful and unique art galleries. There are many hiking trails nearby, a golf course, and world class skiing at Taos ski valley. Taos is known the world over as an art colony and there are many artists living here. Taos was written up and rated the third best small art town out of 100 towns in the book "100 Greatest Small Art Towns in America" by John Villani. It is a tri cultural town. There are the Taos Pueblo Indians, who still inhabit the oldest settlement in America - Taos pueblo. There are the Hispanics, whose history leads way back in time in this valley and the newcomers, the Anglos. All came here seeking peace and beauty.
